SPRING/SUMMER MAKEUP TRENDS



It may be time to give your makeup collection a refreshing makeover as SUMMER is here!. Spring/summer makeup trends include bright candy colors by day, and dark plum and purple for night.

Smokey eyeshadow continues to be a popular look this Spring/Summer, except in a lighter version with gray and metallic silvers. To complement the season's fashion trends with exotic touches and a '30s inspired look, makeup trends include matted foundation for the face, and sultry reds for the lips. Now's the time for some SPRING/SUMMER CLEANING! ;) TREND #1: Pastel Eyeshadow

For 2008 spring/summer makeup trends there are two main looks that steal the spotlight. Lilac eye colors and blue, especially with the season's focus on floral prints and multi-colored layers. It's all about color! Be prepared to play your eyes up with soft purples, lilacs, along with light blues and dark blues.

PSSSST...pastel eyeshadows in eggshell blue, light green, and lilac are perfect enhancements for brown and blue eyes. Add a touch of deep blue eyeliner for an exotic look. See the EYESHADOW COLORS section for an in-depth look at the colors suited for you.




Trend #2: Extra-Thin Cat Eyes

If you've been experimenting with the cat eye look this is the season to show off your hard work. Cat eyes are back for spring and paired with super-light eyeshadow (see TREND #1) and 'nude' colors.

PSSST...Keep all other makeup to a minimum.


Trend #3: Lipcolor

1- From dark red to deep browns and pinks, enjoy the classic '30s trends with dark lipcolor and liner. Balance out this look with black eyeliner and plumped up lashes for maximum appeal.

2- Second trend is completely opposite – nude lips. You can complete this make up with smoky eyes

3- And this one is my favorite – natural juicy lips. If you're a big lip gloss fan you get to keep this natural look for spring & summer.


Trend #4: Fantasy Nails

OK, a little off topic, but worth mentioning. Be prepared for nail decorations and creative styles. The simple French manicure still works great for the day but switch over to bold metallics and glitter for the night. Top colors for the season include pink, orange, yellow, and especially navy blue.
