JLO's dewy look

Do you want to step by step instructions on how to learn how to recreate JLO's dewy, romantic look? It's a light, sweet, fresh look without the "heaviness". Her skin looks so radiant and well...just perfect! How can one not envy her natural beauty. The secret - there is none. It's all about using specific makeup techniques and the right makeup products. It's easy. Once you read this information, you'll be surprised at it's simplicity. Use this step by step makeup application guide to walk you through the stages on achieving this natural, dewy, illuminated skin.

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:

- illuminating creme

- foundation

- satin-finish powder

- matte bronzer

- iridescent powder (for cheeks)

- 3 eyeshadow colors (vanilla, pale pink, darker shade)

- light pink blush

- soft pink lipstick

- shiny lipgloss

STEP 1: ILLUMINATOR, FOUNDATION & CONCEALER

Clean your face with a facial cleanser. Apply a moisturizing illuminating creme to get the "iridescence" appearance. The light reflecting minerals of this creme illuminate the skin and blur the appearance of fine lines, spots and imperfections. Apply the creme as you would foundation.
Product recommendations: MAC Strobe Cream ( a favourite!!), The Body Shop Illuminating Face Treatment with Kinetin or The Body Shop Glow Enhancer Creme.

There are also foundations that already include "illuminators". You will have to try different products to see which effect you like best.
Product recommendations: Stila Liquid Foundation Illuminator, Too Faced Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation.

Apply a liquid foundation the same color as your skin. It is recommended to use a foundation makeup brush as you want both products to mix together. This will give you the effect you are looking for.

Next, apply concealer to the eye area. Dab all around the eye area and blend well with your foundation. If you have dark under eye circles , use concealer BEFORE your foundation and AFTER your illuminator. You can always add a little more of the illuminator around the eye if your concealer "flattened" the area a little too much.

To set and intensify the brightening effect of the skin, apply a light dusting of loose satin-finish powder with a large powder brush. STEP 2: BRONZING POWDER & IRIDESCENT POWDER

With a large powder makeup brush once again, apply a MATTE bronzing powder to the surfaces of the face - light dabs to forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. You can also use this bronzer to contour your face ie. along the jaw line, top of your forehead, temples...etc...(that's another lesson).

Next, take your iridescent powder and softly stroke areas such as apples of cheeks, forehead, chin & collarbones. This powder intensifies the effect of the light on the face and therefore adds "extra"glow. BE CAREFUL to use small amounts as you don't want to shine too much. This look is meant to be soft - not glittery! A good quality makeup brush will help apply this.


STEP 3: EYESHADOW

Take 3 eyeshadow shades - vanilla, pale pink and another darker complimentary neutral color that will accentuate your eye color. See this page to find that color. Apply the pale pink shade to upper eyelid and crease area with large eye makeup brush. Next LIGHTLY sweep the darker shade on outer third corner of eye and down into outer third area of lower lid under lashes. Blend. Blend. Blend. This must look light & airy!

STEP 4: BLUSH

Next, you need to dab a light application of pale pink blush to apples of cheeks with a good quality blush brush. The bronzer on its own can give a harsh look. Gently sweep the light rose blush to apples of cheeks in an outer motion; therefore towards the hairline - but not all the way to the hairline ;).


STEP 5: LIPSTICK & LIPGLOSS

Lastly, for soft & juicy lips, apply a neutral light pink shade of MATTE lipstick and top it off with a pink clear super gloss. For this look, DO NOT USE LIPLINER!
